ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਹਿਤ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਗਾਲ੍ਰਹ ਬਜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਾਯੋ ॥

sev karee siv kee hit so teh gaalreh bajai prasa(n)n karaayo ||

ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਹਨੋ ਝਟ ਦੈ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਤਟ ਦੈ ਬਰੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੬॥

sayaam hano jhaT dhai chhin mai tin sayaam bhanai taT dhai bar paayo ||2276||

H e served and adored Shiva with the singleness of his mind and pleasing him, he obtained the boon of killing Krishna in an instant.2276.

ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਬਾਚ ਦਛ ਸੋ ॥

Speech of Shiva addressed to Sudaksha:

CHAUPAI

ਤਬ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਫਿਰ ਯੌ ਉਚਰੋ ॥

tab siv joo fir yau ucharo ||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਹਿਤ ਹੋਮਹਿ ਕਰੋ ॥

har ke badh hit homeh karo ||

Then Shiva again said to him, “You may perform homa for killing Krishna

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਏਕ ਨਿਕਰਿ ਹੈ ॥

taa te moorat ek nikar hai ||

ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਹਰਿ ਹੈ ॥੨੨੭੭॥

so har jee ke praanan har hai ||2277||

From that homa (sacrifice), you will get an idol, which will seize the life of Krishna.2277.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

DOHRA

ਏਕ ਕਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਜੁਧ ਸਮੈ ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਬਿਮੁਖ ਕਰਾਇ ॥

ek kahee teh judh samai jo kouoo bimukh karai ||

ਤਾ ਪੈ ਬਲੁ ਨਹਿ ਚਲਿ ਸਕੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਮਾਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇ ॥੨੨੭੮॥

taa pai bal neh chal sakai tuh maarai fir aai ||2278||

“If anyone pushes him back in the fight and makes him inattentive then that power will come to kill you.”2278.

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਐਸੇ ਸੁਦਛਨ ਕੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਅਸ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਬਖਾਨਿਯੋ ॥

aaise sudhachhan ko jab hee kab sayaam bhanai as rudhr bakhaaniyo ||

When Shiva said this to Sudaksha, he was pleased

ਸੋ ਉਨਿ ਕਾਜ ਕੀਯੋ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਰਿਖਾਨਿਯੋ ॥

so un kaaj keeyo uTh kai apune man mai at hee harikhaaniyo ||

He did, as directed by Shiva

ਹੋਮ ਕੀਓ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਵਕ ਮੈ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਛਤ ਜਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਬੇਦਨ ਬਖਾਨਿਯੋ ॥

hom keeo tin paavak mai ghirat achhat jau jaise bedhan bakhaaniyo ||

He performed the Havana by the use of fire, ghee and other ingredients according to Vedic injunctions

ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਭਾਖਬੇ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਕਛੂ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਜੜ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੯॥

rudhr ke bhaakhabe ko su kachhoo kab sayaam bhanai jaR bhedh na jaaniyo ||2279||

That fool did not understand the secret of Shiva’s words.2279.

ਤਉ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਤਮਾ ਇਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕਉ ਡਰੁ ਆਵੈ ॥

tau nikasee teh te piratamaa ieh dhekhat hee sabh kau ddar aavai ||

An idol came out of that homa, seeing which all got frightned

ਕਉਨ ਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਧਾਵਤ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਕੋ ਠਹਰਾਵੈ ॥

kaun balee pragaTiyo jag mai ieh dhaavat agraj ko Thaharaavai ||

Who is that mighty one in his world, who can stay against it?

ਠਾਢੀ ਭਈ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਗਦਾ ਅਤਿ ਰੋਸ ਕੈ ਦਾਤ ਸੋ ਦਾਤ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥

Thaaddee bhiee kar lai kai gadhaa at ros kai dhaat so dhaat bajaavai ||

That idol, gnashing its teeth in fury, stood up, taking a huge mace and

ਐਸੇ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਇਹ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨੨੮੦॥

aaise lakhiyo sabh hoo ieh te biraj naik jeevat jaan na paavai ||2280||

Everyone thought that now Krishna will not go alive.2280.

ਤਬ ਦਿਸ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਵਤੀ ਕੀ ਧਾਈ ॥

tab dhis dhavaiaaravatee kee dhaiee ||

ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਾਈ ॥

at chit apane krodh baddaiee ||

Then that idol, getting extremely enraged in its mind, started moving towards Dwarka

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਇਤੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
