Ten thousand horses were dead and twenty thousand elephants gotlaughtered.

ਬਹੁ ਪੈਦਲ ਜਮ ਧਾਮ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੨੬॥

One hundred thousand rulers were massacred and great number offootsoldiers were sent to the domain of death.(26)

Duryodhan, Drona (Acharya), Kirpa, Karan, Raja Bhoor Sarva,

ਅਮਿਤ ਸੰਗ ਸੈਨਾ ਲਏ ਸਭੈ ਪਹੂੰਚੈ ਆਇ ॥੨੭॥

amit sa(n)g sainaa le sabhai pahoo(n)chai aai ||27||

All those claiming supremacy, reached there with their armies.(27)

ਯਾ ਦ੍ਰੁਪਦਾ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਸੁਨੁ ਰੇ ਸਠ ਜੀਤਿ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਮੈ ਹਮ ਲੈਹੈ ॥

yaa dhrupadhaa tum te sun re saTh jeet suya(n)bar mai ham laihai ||

(They said)‘Listen, you fool, we will take Daropdee away by winning in theswayyamber.

ਸਾਗਨ ਸੂਲਨ ਸੈਥਿਨ ਸੋਂ ਹਨਿ ਕੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਕੋ ਜਮ ਧਾਮ ਪਠੈਹੈ ॥

saagan soolan saithin so(n) han kai tuh ko jam dhaam paThaihai ||

‘Clobbering you with the spears and tridents we will send you to therealm of death.

ਡਾਰਿ ਰਥੋਤਮ ਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਕਤ ਭਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜੜ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੈਹੈ ॥

ddaar rathotam mai tiray ko kat bhaajat hai jaR jaan na dhaihai ||

‘Where are you running with the woman in the chariot? We will notlet you escape.

ਏਕ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਕਿਧੋ ਪਾਰਥ ਹੀ ਕਿ ਦ੍ਰੁਜੋਧਨ ਹ੍ਵੈਹੈ ॥੨੮॥

ek nidhaan karai ran mai kidho paarath hee k dhrujodhan havaihai ||28||

‘We will settle. Either Arjan or Daryodhan will survive.(28)

ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਮੂਰਛਨਾ ਧਰਨਿ ਨ ਨੈਕ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

giriyo moorachhanaa dharan na naik sa(n)bhaariyo ||

ਤਬੈ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਸਾਇਕ ਧਨੁਖ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥

ਹੋ ਬਹੁ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੌ ਦਿਯੋ ਛਿਨਿਕ ਮੌ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥੩੨॥

ho bahu beeran kau dhiyo chhinik mau maar kai ||32||

Daropdee leapt ahead, took over bow and shot dead many fighters.(32)

ਏਕ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਭਾਨੁਜ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

ek bisikh bhaanuj ke ur mai maariyo ||

ਦੁਤਿਯ ਬਾਨ ਸੋ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

dhutiy baan so dhurajodhaneh prahaariyo ||

One arrow went straight into the chest of Karan and the other hitDaryodhan.

ਭੀਖਮ ਭੂਰਸ੍ਰਵਾਹਿ ਦ੍ਰੋਣ ਘਾਇਲ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥

ਹੋ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਜ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦੁਸਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨ ਹਰਿਯੋ ॥੩੩॥

ho dhronaj kirapaa dhusaasan ko saya(n)dhan hariyo ||33||

Bhisham Pitama, Boor Serva and Drona were injured,And Dushashan, Kirpa and many chariots were destroyed.(33)

ਮਾਚਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਰਣ ਨਾਚੇ ਸੁਭਟ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੩੪॥

Mighty fighting spread and the dance of war reached its climax.(34)
