ਅਉਰ ਕਿਸੂ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ਨ ਗਹਿਹੋਂ ॥੩੧॥

aaur kisoo te bair na gahiho(n) ||31||

I do not bear enmity towards anyone. 31.

ਜੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਉਚਰਿਹੈਂ ॥

jo ham ko paramesar ucharihai(n) ||

Whosoever shall call me the Lord,

ਤੇ ਸਭ ਨਰਕ ਕੁੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਹੈਂ ॥

te sabh narak ku(n)dd meh parihai(n) ||

shall all fall into the pits of hell.

ਮੋ ਕੌ ਦਾਸ ਤਵਨ ਕਾ ਜਾਨੋ ॥

mo kau dhaas tavan kaa jaano ||

Consider me the servant of the Transcendent Lord.

ਯਾ ਮੈ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਰੰਚ ਪਛਾਨੋ ॥੩੨॥

yaa mai bhedh na ra(n)ch pachhaano ||32||

Do not think of any difference between me and Him. 32.

ਮੈ ਹੋ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੋ ਦਾਸਾ ॥

mai ho param purakh ko dhaasaa ||

I am the servant of the Supreme Being.

ਦੇਖਨ ਆਯੋ ਜਗਤ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥

dhekhan aayo jagat tamaasaa ||

I have come to see the spectacle of the world.

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਗਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਸੋ ਕਹਿਹੋਂ ॥

jo prabh jagat kahaa so kahiho(n) ||

Whatever the Lord of the world said,

ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਮੋਨ ਨ ਰਹਿਹੋਂ ॥੩੩॥

mirat lok te mon na rahiho(n) ||33||

I say the same unto you, I cannot remain silent in this abode of death. 33.

ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥

naraaj chha(n)dh ||

NAARAAJ CHHAND

ਕਹਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁ ਭਾਖਿ ਹੋਂ ॥

kahio prabhoo su bhaakh ho(n) ||

ਕਿਸੂ ਨ ਕਾਨ ਰਾਖਿ ਹੋਂ ॥

kisoo na kaan raakh ho(n) ||

I say only that which the Lord hath said, I do not yield to anyone else.

ਕਿਸੂ ਨ ਭੇਖ ਭੀਜ ਹੋਂ ॥

kisoo na bhekh bheej ho(n) ||

ਅਲੇਖ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜ ਹੋਂ ॥੩੪॥

alekh beej beej ho(n) ||34||

I do not feel pleased with any particular garb, I sow the seed of God’s Name.34.

ਪਖਾਣ ਪੂਜ ਹੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ॥

pakhaan pooj ho(n) nahee(n) ||

ਨ ਭੇਖ ਭੀਜ ਹੋ ਕਹੀਂ ॥

n bhekh bheej ho kahee(n) ||

I do not worship stones, nor I have any liking for a particular guise.

ਅਨੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਾਇ ਹੋਂ ॥

ana(n)t naam gai ho(n) ||

I sing the Name (of the Lord),

ਪਰੱਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਾਇ ਹੋਂ ॥੩੫॥

para'm purakh pai ho(n) ||35||

I sing infinite Names (of the Lord), and meet the Supreme Purusha.35.

ਜਟਾ ਨ ਸੀਸ ਧਾਰਿਹੋਂ ॥

jaTaa na sees dhaariho(n) ||

ਨ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਕਾ ਸੁਧਾਰਿਹੋਂ ॥

n mu(n)dhrakaa sudhaariho(n) ||

I do not wear matted hair on my head, nor do I put rings in my ears.

ਨ ਕਾਨਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਧਰੋ ॥

n kaan kaahoo(n) kee dharo ||

ਕਹਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁ ਮੈ ਕਰੋਂ ॥੩੬॥

kahio prabhoo su mai karo(n) ||36||

I do not pay attention to anyone else, all my actions are at the bidding of the Lord.36.

ਭਜੋਂ ਸੁ ਏਕ ਨਾਮਯੰ ॥

bhajo(n) su ek naamaya(n) ||

ਜੁ ਕਾਮ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਮਯੰ ॥

j kaam sarab Thaamaya(n) ||

I recite only the Name of the Lord, which is useful at all places.

ਨ ਜਾਪ ਆਨ ਕੋ ਜਪੋ ॥

n jaap aan ko japo ||

ਨ ਅਉਰ ਥਾਪਨਾ ਥਪੋ ॥੩੭॥

n aaur thaapanaa thapo ||37||

I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I seek assistance from any other quarter.37.

ਬਿਅੰਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਇ ਹੋਂ ॥

bia(n)t naam dhiaai ho(n) ||

ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਾਇ ਹੋਂ ॥

param jot pai ho(n) ||

I recite infinite Names and attain the Supreme light.

ਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਆਨ ਕੋ ਧਰੋਂ ॥

n dhiaan aan ko dharo(n) ||

ਨ ਨਾਮ ਆਨ ਉਚਰੋਂ ॥੩੮॥

n naam aan ucharo(n) ||38||

I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I repeat the Name of anyone else.38.

ਤਵੱਕ ਨਾਮ ਰੱਤਿਯੰ ॥

tava'k naam ra'tiya(n) ||

ਨ ਆਨ ਮਾਨ ਮੱਤਿਯੰ ॥

n aan maan ma'tiya(n) ||

I am absorbed only in the Name of the Lord, and honour none else.

ਪਰੱਮ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰੀਯੰ ॥

para'm dhiaan dhaareeya(n) ||

ਅਨੰਤ ਪਾਪ ਟਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੩੯॥

ana(n)t paap Taareeya(n) ||39||

By meditating on the Supreme, I am absolved of infinite sins.39.

ਤੁਮੇਵ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਚਿਯੰ ॥

tumev roop raachiya(n) ||

ਨ ਆਨ ਦਾਨ ਮਾਚਿਯੰ ॥

n aan dhaan maachiya(n) ||

I am absorbed only in His Sight, and do not attend to any other charitable action.

ਤਵੱਕ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੰ ॥

tava'k naam uchaariya(n) ||

ਅਨੰਤ ਦੂਖ ਟਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੪੦॥

ana(n)t dhookh Taareeya(n) ||40||

By uttering only His Name, I am absolved of infinite sorrows.40.

ਚੌਪਈ ॥

CHAUPAI

ਜਿਨ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਮ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥

jin jin naam tihaaro dhiaaiaa ||

ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਤਿਹ ਨਿਕਟ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥

dhookh paap teh nikaT na aaiaa ||

Those who mediated on the Name of the Lord, none of the sorrows and sins came near them.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਅਉਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੋ ਧਰਹੀਂ ॥

je je aaur dhiaan ko dharahee(n) ||

ਬਹਿਸ ਬਹਿਸ ਬਾਦਨ ਤੇ ਮਰਹੀਂ ॥੪੧॥

bahis bahis baadhan te marahee(n) ||41||

Those who meditated on any other entity, they ended themselves in futile discussions and quarrels.41.

ਹਮ ਇਹ ਕਾਜ ਜਗਤ ਮੋ ਆਏ ॥

ham ieh kaaj jagat mo aae ||

ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਠਾਏ ॥

dharam het gurdhev paThaae ||

I have been sent into this world by the Preceptor-Lord to propagate Dharma (righteousness).

ਜਹਾਂ ਤਹਾਂ ਤੁਮ ਧਰਮ ਬਿਥਾਰੋ ॥

jahaa(n) tahaa(n) tum dharam bithaaro ||

ਦੁਸਟ ਦੋਖੀਅਨਿ ਪਕਰਿ ਪਛਾਰੋ ॥੪੨॥

dhusaT dhokheean pakar pachhaaro ||42||

The Lord asked me to spread Dharma, and vanquish the tyrants and evil-minded persons. 42.

ਯਾਹੀ ਕਾਜ ਧਰਾ ਹਮ ਜਨਮੰ ॥

yaahee kaaj dharaa ham janama(n) ||

ਸਮਝ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭ ਮਨ ਮੰ ॥

samajh leh saadhoo sabh man ma(n) ||

I have taken birth of this purpose, the saints should comprehend this in their minds.

ਧਰਮ ਚਲਾਵਨ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਨ ॥

dharam chalaavan sa(n)t ubaaran ||

ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਮੂਲ ਉਪਾਰਨ ॥੪੩॥

dhusaT sabhan ko mool upaaran ||43||

(I have been born) to spread Dharma, and protect saints, and root out tyrants and evil-minded persons.43.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਭਏ ਪਹਿਲ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥

je je bhe pahil avataaraa ||

ਆਪੁ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਪੁ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥

aap aap tin jaap uchaaraa ||

All the earlier incarnations caused only their names to be remembered.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਬਿਦਾਰਾ ॥

prabh dhokhee koiee na bidhaaraa ||

ਧਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਕੋ ਰਾਹੁ ਨ ਡਾਰਾ ॥੪੪॥

dharam karan ko raahu na ddaaraa ||44||

They did not strike the tyrants and did not make them follow th path of Dharma.44.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਗਉਸ ਅੰਬੀਆ ਭਏ ॥

je je gaus a(n)beeaa bhe ||

ਮੈ ਮੈ ਕਰਤ ਜਗਤ ਤੇ ਗਏ ॥

mai mai karat jagat te ge ||

All the earlier prophets ended themselves in ego.

ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥

mahaapurakh kaahoo na pachhaanaa ||

ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕੋ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੪੫॥

karam dharam ko kachhoo na jaanaa ||45||

And did not comprehend the supreme Purusha, they did not care for the righteous actions.45.

ਅਵਰਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

avaran kee aasaa kichh naahee ||

ਏਕੈ ਆਸ ਧਰੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥

ekai aas dharo man maahee ||

Have no hopes on others, rely only on the ONE Lord.

ਆਨ ਆਸ ਉਪਜਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

aan aas upajat kichh naahee ||

ਵਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਧਰੋਂ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੪੬॥

vaa kee aas dharo(n) man maahee ||46||

The hopes on others are never fruitful, therefore, keep in your mind the hopes on the ONE Lord.46.

DOHRA

ਕੋਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਕੋਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥

koiee paRhat kuraan ko koiee paRhat puraan ||

Someone studies the Quran and someone studies the Puranas.

ਕਾਲ ਨ ਸਕਤ ਬਚਾਇ ਕੈ ਫੋਕਟ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੪੭॥

kaal na sakat bachai kai fokaT dharam nidhaan ||47||

Mere reading cannot save one from death. Therefore such works are vain and do not help at the time of death.47.

ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਕੁਰਾਨਾ ॥

kiee koT mil paRhat kuraanaa ||

ਬਾਚਤ ਕਿਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਅਜਾਨਾ ॥

baachat kite puraan ajaanaa ||

Millions of people recite the Quran and many study Puranas witout understanding the crux.

ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਮ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥

a(n)t kaal koiee kaam na aavaa ||

ਦਾਵ ਕਾਲ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਬਚਾਵਾ ॥੪੮॥

dhaav kaal kaahoo na bachaavaa ||48||

It will be of no use at the time of death and none will be saved.48.

ਕਿਉ ਨ ਜਪੋ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ॥

kiau na japo taa ko tum bhaiee ||
