ZAFARNAMAH (The Epistle of Victory)

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੁਖਵਾਕ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ੧੦ ॥

sree mukhavaak paatisaahee 10 ||

The Sacred Utterance of the Tenth Sovereign.

ਕਮਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਕਾਯਮ ਕਰੀਮ ॥

kamaale karaamaat kaayam kareem ||

ਰਜ਼ਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੋ ਰਾਜ਼ਿਕ ਰਿਹਾਕੋ ਰਹੀਮ ॥੧॥

razaa bakhhasho raazik rihaako raheem ||1||

The Lord is perfect in all faculties. He is Immortal and generous. He is the Giver of victuals and Emancipator.1.

ਅਮਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੋ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦ ਓ ਦਸਤਗੀਰ ॥

amaa bakhhasho bakhhashi(n)dh o dhasatageer ||

He is the Protector and Helper.

ਰਜ਼ਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦਿਹੋ ਦਿਲ ਪਜ਼ੀਰ ॥੨॥

razaa bakhhash rozee dhiho dhil pazeer ||2||

He is Compassionate, the Giver of food, and Enticer.2.

ਸ਼ਹਿਨਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਦਿਹੋ ਰਹ ਨਮੂੰ ॥

shahinashaeh khhoobee dhiho reh namoo(n) ||

He is the Sovereign, treasure-house of qualities and Guide

ਕਿ ਬੇਗੂੰਨ ਬੇਚੂੰਨ ਚੂੰ ਬੇਨਮੂੰ ॥੩॥

k begoo(n)n bechoo(n)n choo(n) benamoo(n) ||3||

He is unparalleled and is without Form and Colour.3.

ਨ ਸਾਜ਼ੋ ਨ ਬਾਜ਼ੋ ਨ ਫ਼ੌਜੋ ਨ ਫ਼ਰਸ਼ ॥

n saazo na baazo na phauajo na pharash ||

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਏ ਐਸ਼ੁ ਅਰਸ਼ ॥੪॥

khhudhaava(n)dh bakhhashi(n)dhe aaish arash ||4||

Through His Generosity, He provides Heavenly Enjoyments to one without any wealth, falcon, army property and authority.4.

ਜਹਾ ਪਾਕ ਜ਼ਬਰਸਤ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਜ਼ਹੂਰ ॥

jahaa paak zabarasat zaahir zahoor ||

He is the Transcendent as well as Immanent

ਅਤਾ ਮੇ ਦਿਹਦ ਹਮ ਚੁ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ॥੫॥

ataa me dhihadh ham ch haazir hazoor ||5||

He is Omnipresent and bestows honours.5.

ਅਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਓ ਪਾਕ ਪਰਵਰਦਿਗਾਰ ॥

ataa bakhhasho paak paravaradhigaar ||

He is Holy, Generous and Preserver

ਰਹੀਮ ਅਸਤੋ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦਿਹੋ ਹਰ ਦਿਯਾਰ ॥੬॥

raheem asato rozee dhiho har dhiyaar ||6||

He is Merciful and Provider of victuals.6.

ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਿਆਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਆਜ਼ਮ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥

k saahib dhiaar asat aazam azeem ||

The Lord is Generous, the Highest of the High

ਕਿ ਹੁਸਨੁਲ ਜਮਾਲ ਅਸਤੁ ਰਾਜ਼ਕ ਰਹੀਮ ॥੭॥

k husanul jamaal asat raazak raheem ||7||

He, the preserver, is Most Beautiful.7.

ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਊਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਆਜਿਜ਼ ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ ॥

k saahib shuoor asat aajiz nivaaz ||

The Lord is Omniscient, the Protector of the lowly

ਗ਼ਰੀਬੁਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੋ ਗ਼ਨੀਮੁਲ ਗੁਦਾਜ਼ ॥੮॥

g(h)reebul prasato g(h)neemul gudhaaz ||8||

He, the Friend of the poor, is the Destroyer of the enemies.8.

ਸ਼ਰੀਅਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੋ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੀਲਤ ਮਆਬ ॥

shareeat prasato phazeelat maab ||

He is the Source of all virtues, keeper of Dharma

ਹਕੀਕਤ ਸ਼ਨਾਸੋ ਨਬੀਉਲ ਕਿਤਾਬ ॥੯॥

hakeekat shanaaso nabeeaul kitaab ||9||

He knows everything and is the Source of all Scriptures.9.

ਕਿ ਦਾਨਿਸ਼ ਪਿਯੂਹਸਤੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਊਰ ॥

k dhaanish piyoohasat saahib shuoor ||

He is the Perfect Being and Treasure of Wisdom

ਹਕੀਕਤ ਸ਼ਨਾਸਸਤੁ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਜ਼ਹੂਰ ॥੧੦॥

hakeekat shanaasasat zaahar zahoor ||10||

He, the All-Pervading Lord, is Omniscient.10.

ਸ਼ਨਾਸਿੰਦਏ ਇਲਮਿ ਆਲਮ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਇ ॥

shanaasi(n)dhe ilam aalam khhudhai ||

ਕੁਸ਼ਾਇੰਦਏ ਕਾਰਿ ਆਲਮ ਕੁਸ਼ਾਇ ॥੧੧॥

kushai(n)dhe kaar aalam kushai ||11||

The Lord of the Universe, Knows all the sciences and breaks the knots of all complications.11.

ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਿੰਦਏ ਕਾਰਿ ਆਲਮ ਕਬੀਰ ॥

guzaari(n)dhe kaar aalam kabeer ||

He, the Supreme and Most High, Supervises the whole world

ਸ਼ਨਾਸਿੰਦਏ ਇਲਮਿ ਆਲਮ ਅਮੀਰ ॥੧੨॥

shanaasi(n)dhe ilam aalam ameer ||12||

He, the Sovereign of the Universe, is the Source of all Learning.12.

ਮਰਾ ਏਤਬਾਰੇ ਬਰੀਂ ਕਸਮ ਨੇਸਤ ॥

maraa etabaare baree(n) kasam nesat ||

(Aurangzeb!) I do not have faith in your oaths.

ਕਿ ਏਜ਼ਦ ਗਵਾਹਸਤੁ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਯਕੇਸਤ ॥੧੩॥

k ezadh gavaahasat yazadhaa yakesat ||13||

The Lord Himself is the Witness.13.

ਨ ਕਤਰਹ ਮਰਾ ਏਤਬਾਰੇ ਬਰੋਸਤ ॥

n katareh maraa etabaare barosat ||

ਕਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਵ ਦੀਵਾ ਹਮਹ ਕਿਜ਼ਬਗੋਸ਼ਤ ॥੧੪॥

k bakhhashee v dheevaa hameh kizabagoshat ||14||

I have not an iota of faith in such a person, whose officers have relinquished the path of Truth.14.

ਕਸੇ ਕਉਲਿ ਕੁਰਆਂ ਕੁਨਦ ਏਤਬਾਰ ॥

kase kaul kuraa(n) kunadh etabaar ||

ਹਮਾ ਰੋਜ਼ਿ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਮਰਦ ਖ਼੍ਵਾਰ ॥੧੫॥

hamaa roz aakhhir shavadh maradh khhavaiaar ||15||

Whosoever puts faith on the oath of Quran, he is subjected to punishment on the final reckoning.15.

ਹੁਮਾ ਰਾ ਕਸੇ ਸਾਯਹ ਆਯਦ ਬਜ਼ੇਰ ॥

humaa raa kase saayeh aayadh bazer ||

ਬਰੋ ਦਸਤ ਦਾਰਦ ਨ ਜ਼ਾਗ਼ੋ ਦਲੇਰ ॥੧੬॥

baro dhasat dhaaradh na zaag(h)o dhaler ||16||

He, who comes under the shade of the legendary Huma, a very brave crow cannot harm him.16.

ਕਸੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਤ ਉਫ਼ਤਦ ਪਸੇ ਸ਼ੇਰਿ ਨਰ ॥

kase pushat uphatadh pase sher nar ||

He, who takes refuge of the fierce tiger

ਨਗੀਰਦ ਬੁਜ਼ੋ ਮੇਸ਼ੋ ਆਹੂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ॥੧੭॥

nageeradh buzo mesho aahoo guzar ||17||

The goat, sheep and deer do not go near him.17.

ਕਸਮ ਮੁਸਹਫ਼ੇ ਖ਼ੁਫ਼ੀਯਹ ਗਰ ਈਂ ਖ਼ੁਰਮ ॥

kasam musahaphe khhupheeyeh gar iee(n) khhuram ||

ਨ ਫ਼ੌਜੇ ਅਜ਼ੀਂ ਜ਼ੇਰ ਸੁਮ ਅਫ਼ਕੁਨਮ ॥੧੮॥

n phauaje azee(n) zer sum aphakunam ||18||

Even if I had taken an oath on Quran in concealment, I would not have moved an inch from my place.18.

ਗੁਰਸਨਹ ਚਿ ਕਾਰੇ ਕੁਨਦ ਚਿਹਲ ਨਰ ॥

gursaneh ch kaare kunadh chihal nar ||

ਕਿ ਦਹ ਲਖ ਬਰਆਯਦ ਬਰੋ ਬੇਖ਼ਬਰ ॥੧੯॥

k dheh lakh baraayadh baro bekhhabar ||19||

How could forty famished persons fight in the battlefield, on whom 1,000,000 soldiers made a sudden attack.19.

ਕਿ ਪੈਮਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਨ ਬੇਦਰੰਗ ਅਮਾਦੰਦ ॥

k paimaa shikan bedhara(n)g amaadha(n)dh ||

ਮਿਯਾ ਤੇਗ਼ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ਆਮਦੰਦ ॥੨੦॥

miyaa teg(h) teero tupha(n)g aamadha(n)dh ||20||

Your army breaking the oath and in great haste plunged in the battlefield with arrows and guns.20.

ਬ ਲਾਚਾਰਗੀ ਦਰ ਮਿਯਾ ਆਮਦਮ ॥

b laachaaragee dhar miyaa aamadham ||

ਬ ਤਦਬੀਰਿ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ਆਮਦਮ ॥੨੧॥

b tadhabeer teero tupha(n)g aamadham ||21||

For this reason, I had to intervene and had to come fully armed.21.

ਚੁ ਕਾਰ ਅਜ਼ ਹਮਹ ਹੀਲਤੇ ਦਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਸ਼ਤ ॥

ch kaar az hameh heelate dhar guzashat ||

When all other methods of communication have failed,

ਹਲਾਲ ਅਸਤੁ ਬੁਰਦਨ ਬ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਦਸਤ ॥੨੨॥

halaal asat buradhan b shamasher dhasat ||22||

It is righteous to take the sword in hand.22.

ਚਿ ਕਸਮੇ ਕੁਰਾ ਮਨ ਕੁਨਮ ਏਤਬਾਰ ॥

ch kasame kuraa man kunam etabaar ||

I have no faith in your oaths on the Quran.

ਵਗਰਨਹ ਤੁ ਗੋਈ ਮਨ ਈਂ ਰਹ ਚਿ ਕਾਰ ॥੨੩॥

vagaraneh ta goiee man iee(n) reh ch kaar ||23||

Otherwise I had nothing to do with this battle.23.

ਨ ਦਾਨਮ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਮਰਦ ਰੋਬਾਹ ਪੇਚ ॥

n dhaanam k iee(n) maradh robaeh pech ||

I did not think your officers would be deceitful.

ਵਗਰ ਹਰਗਿਜ਼ੀਂ ਰਹ ਨਯਾਰਦ ਬਹੇਚ ॥੨੪॥

vagar haragizee(n) reh nayaaradh bahech ||24||

Otherwise I would not have followed the path I have taken.24.

ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸ ਕਿ ਕਉਲੇ ਕੁਰਾ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ॥

har aa(n) kas k kaule kuraa aayadhash ||

For those persons who have put their faith on the oaths of the Quran,

ਨਜ਼ੋ ਬਸਤਨੋ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਨੀ ਬਾਯਦਸ਼ ॥੨੫॥

nazo basatano kushatanee baayadhash ||25||

It is not right to imprison and kill them.25.

ਬਰੰਗੇ ਮਗਸ ਸ੍ਰਯਾਹਪੋਸ਼ ਆਮਦੰਦ ॥

bara(n)ge magas srayaahaposh aamadha(n)dh ||

The soldiers of your army, clad in black uniforms, rushed like flies on my men.

ਬ ਯਕ ਬਾਰਗੀ ਦਰ ਖ਼ਰੋਸ਼ ਆਮਦੰਦ ॥੨੬॥

b yak baaragee dhar khharosh aamadha(n)dh ||26||

They came at us making loud noises.26.

ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸ ਜ਼ਿ ਦੀਵਾਰ ਆਮਦ ਬਿਰੂੰ ॥

har aa(n) kas z dheevaar aamadh biroo(n) ||

Whosoever appeared near the wall of the fort,

ਬਖ਼ੁਰਦਨ ਯਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਗ਼ਰਕਿ ਖ਼ੂੰ ॥੨੭॥

bakhhuradhan yake teer shudh g(h)rak khhoo(n) ||27||

With one arrow he was drenched in his own blood.27.

ਕਿ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਨਯਾਮਦ ਕਸੇ ਜ਼ਾ ਦੀਵਾਰ ॥

k beroo(n) nayaamadh kase zaa dheevaar ||

Thereafter, no one dared to come there near the wall

ਨ ਖ਼ੁਰਦੰਦ ਤੀਰੋ ਨ ਗਸ਼ਤੰਦ ਖ਼੍ਵਾਰ ॥੨੮॥

n khhuradha(n)dh teero na gashata(n)dh khhavaiaar ||28||

None faced then the arrows and destruction.28.

ਚੁ ਦੀਦਮ ਕਿ ਨਾਹਰ ਬਿਯਾਮਦ ਬ ਜੰਗ ॥

ch dheedham k naahar biyaamadh b ja(n)g ||

When I saw Nahar Khan in the battlefield,

ਚਸ਼ੀਦਹ ਯਕੇ ਤੀਰਿ ਮਨ ਬੇਦਰੰਗ ॥੨੯॥

chasheedheh yake teer man bedhara(n)g ||29||

He was greeted with one of my arrows.29.

ਹਮਾਖ਼ਿਰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਗੁਰੇਜ਼ਦ ਬਜਾਏ ਮਸਾਫ਼ ॥

hamaakhhir aakhhar gurezadh bajaae masaaph ||

ਬਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਖ਼ੁਰਦੰਦ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਫ਼ ॥੩੦॥

base khhaaneh khhuradha(n)dh beroo(n) guzaaph ||30||

All those boasters who came near the wall, they were dispatched in no time.30.

ਕਿ ਅਫ਼ਗਨੇ ਦੀਗਰ ਬਿਯਾਮਦ ਬਜੰਗ ॥

k aphagane dheegar biyaamadh baja(n)g ||

ਚੁ ਸੈਲੇ ਰਵਾ ਹਮ ਚੁ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥੩੧॥

ch saile ravaa ham ch teero tupha(n)g ||31||

Another Afghan, with a bow and arrow came in the battlefield like a flood.31.

ਬਸੇ ਹਮਲਹ ਕਰਦੰਦ ਬ ਮਰਦਾਨਗੀ ॥

base hamaleh karadha(n)dh b maradhaanagee ||

ਹਮ ਅਜ਼ ਹੋਸ਼ਗੀ ਹਮ ਜ਼ਿ ਦੇਵਾਨਗੀ ॥੩੨॥

ham az hoshagee ham z dhevaanagee ||32||

He shot arrows heroically, sometimes in senses and sometimes in madness.32.

ਬਸੇ ਹਮਲਹ ਕਰਦਹ ਬਸੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਖ਼ੁਰਦ ॥

base hamaleh karadheh base zakhham khhuradh ||

ਦੁ ਕਸ ਰਾ ਬਜ਼ਾ ਕੁਸ਼ਤੋ ਹਮ ਜਾ ਸਪੁਰਦ ॥੩੩॥

dh kas raa bazaa kushato ham jaa sapuradh ||33||

He made several attacks and was drenched with last.33.

ਕਿ ਆਂ ਖ਼੍ਵਾਜਹ ਮਰਦੂਦ ਸਾਯਹ ਦੀਵਾਰ ॥

k aa(n) khhavaiaajeh maradhoodh saayeh dheevaar ||

Khwaja Mardud hid himself behind the wall

ਨ੍ਰਯਾਮਦ ਬ ਮੈਦਾ ਬ ਮਰਦਾਨਹ ਵਾਰ ॥੩੪॥

nrayaamadh b maidhaa b maradhaaneh vaar ||34||

He did not enter the field like a brave warrior.34.

ਦਰੇਗਾ ਅਗਰ ਰੂਇ ਓ ਦੀਦਮੇ ॥

dharegaa agar rooi o dheedhame ||

ਬ ਯਕ ਤੀਰ ਲਾਚਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਮੇ ॥੩੫॥

b yak teer laachaar bakhhasheedhame ||35||

If I had seen his face once, one of my arrows would have dispatched him to the abode of death.35.

ਹਮਾਖ਼ਿਰ ਬਸੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਿ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥

hamaakhhir base zakhham teero tupha(n)g ||

ਦੁ ਸੂਏ ਬਸੇ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਹ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਬੇਦਰੰਗ ॥੩੬॥

dh sooe base kushateh shudh bedhara(n)g ||36||

Many warriors wounded with arrows and bullets died in the battle on both the sides.36.

ਬਸੇ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰੀਦ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥

base baar baareedh teero tupha(n)g ||

ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਹਮ ਚੂੰ ਗੁਲੇ ਲਾਲਹ ਰੰਗ ॥੩੭॥

zimee gashat ham choo(n) gule laaleh ra(n)g ||37||

The darts were showered so violently, that the field became red like popyflowers.37.

ਸਰੋਪਾਇ ਅੰਬੋਹ ਚੰਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ॥

saropai a(n)boh cha(n)dhaa shudheh ||

ਕਿ ਮੈਦਾ ਪੁਰ ਅਜ਼ ਗੋਇ ਚੌਗਾ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ॥੩੮॥

k maidhaa pur az goi chauagaa shudheh ||38||

The heads and limbs of the dead were scattered in the field like the balls and sticks in the game of Polo.38.

ਤਰੰਕਾਰਿ ਤੀਰੋ ਤਰੰਗਿ ਕਮਾ ॥

tara(n)kaar teero tara(n)g kamaa ||

ਬਰਆਮਦ ਯਕੇ ਹਾ ਇ ਹੂ ਅਜ਼ ਜਹਾ ॥੩੯॥

baraamadh yake haa i hoo az jahaa ||39||

When the arrows hissed and bows tinkled, there was a great hue and cry in the world.39.

ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਸ਼ੋਰਸ਼ਿ ਕੈਬਰਿ ਕੀਨਹ ਕੋਸ਼ ॥

dhig(h)r shorash kaibar keeneh kosh ||

ਜ਼ਿ ਮਰਦਾਨਿ ਮਰਦਾ ਬਿਰੂੰ ਰਫ਼ਤ ਹੋਸ਼ ॥੪੦॥

z maradhaan maradhaa biroo(n) raphat hosh ||40||

There the spears and lances provided a dreadful sound and the warriors lost heir senses.40.

ਹਮ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਚਿ ਮਰਦੀ ਕੁਨਦ ਕਾਰਜ਼ਾਰ ॥

ham aakhhir ch maradhee kunadh kaarazaar ||

ਕਿ ਬਰ ਚਿਹਲ ਤਨ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ॥੪੧॥

k bar chihal tan aayadhash beshumaar ||41||

How could bravery ultimately withstand in the field, when only forty were surrounded by innumerable warriors?41.

ਚਰਾਗ਼ਿ ਜਹਾ ਚੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ਬੁਰਕਹ ਪੋਸ਼ ॥

charaag(h) jahaa choo(n) shudheh burakeh posh ||

ਸ਼ਹੇ ਸ਼ਬ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹਮਹ ਜਲਵਹ ਜੋਸ਼ ॥੪੨॥

shahe shab baraamadh hameh jalaveh josh ||42||

When the lamp of the world veiled itself, the moon shone in brightness during the night.42.

ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸ ਬ ਕਉਲੇ ਕੁਰਾ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ॥

har aa(n) kas b kaule kuraa aayadhash ||

ਕਿ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਬਰੋ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ॥੪੩॥

k yazadhaa baro rahinumaa aayadhash ||43||

He, who puts faith on the oaths of the Quran, the Ture Lord gives him the guidance.43.

ਨ ਪੇਚੀਦਹ ਮੂਏ ਨ ਰੰਜੀਦਹ ਤਨ ॥

n pecheedheh mooe na ra(n)jeedheh tan ||

There was neither any harm nor injury

ਕਿ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਆਵੁਰਦ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਸ਼ਿਕਨ ॥੪੪॥

k beroo(n) khhudh aavuradh dhushaman shikan ||44||

My Lord, the vanquisher of the enemies, brought me to safety.44.

ਨ ਦਾਨਮ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਮਰਦਿ ਪੈਮਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਨ ॥

n dhaanam k iee(n) maradh paimaa shikan ||

ਕਿ ਦੌਲਤ ਪਰਸਤ ਓ ਈਮਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਨ ॥੪੫॥

k dhaualat parasat o ieemaa phikan ||45||

I did not know that these oath-breakers were deceitful and flowers of mammon.45.

ਨ ਈਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਨ ਔਜ਼ਾਇ ਦੀਂ ॥

n ieemaa prasatee na aauazai dhee(n) ||

ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਨਾਸੀ ਨ ਮਹੰਮਦ ਯਕੀਂ ॥੪੬॥

n saahib shanaasee na maha(n)madh yakee(n) ||46||

They were neither men of faith, nor true followers of Islam, they did not know the Lord nor had faith in the prophet.46.

ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸ ਕਿ ਈਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

har aa(n) kas k ieemaa prasatee kunadh ||

ਨ ਪੈਮਾ ਖ਼ੁਦਸ਼ ਪੇਸ਼ੋ ਪਸਤੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥੪੭॥

n paimaa khhudhash pesho pasatee kunadh ||47||

He, who follows his faith with sincerity, he never budges an inch from his oaths.47.

ਕਿ ਈਂ ਮਰਦ ਰਾ ਜ਼ੱਰਹ ਏਤਬਾਰ ਨੇਸਤ ॥

k iee(n) maradh raa za'reh etabaar nesat ||

ਚਿ ਕਸਮੇ ਕੁਰਾਨਸਤੁ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਯਕੇਸਤ ॥੪੮॥

ch kasame kuraanasat yazadhaa yakesat ||48||

I have no faith at all in such a person for whom the oath of the Quran has no significance.48.

ਚੁ ਕਸਮੇ ਕੁਰਾ ਸਦ ਕੁਨਦ ਇਖ਼ਤਿਯਾਰ ॥

ch kasame kuraa sadh kunadh ikhhatiyaar ||

ਮਰਾ ਕਤਰਹ ਨਾਯਦ ਅਜ਼ੋ ਏਤਬਾਰ ॥੪੯॥

maraa katareh naayadh azo etabaar ||49||

Even if you swear a hundred times in the name of the Quran, I shall not trust you any more.49.

ਅਗਰਚਿ ਤੁਰਾ ਏਤਬਾਰ ਆਮਦੇ ॥

agarach turaa etabaar aamadhe ||

ਕਮਰ ਬਸਤ ਏ ਪੇਸ਼ਵਾ ਆਮਦੇ ॥੫੦॥

kamar basat e peshavaa aamadhe ||50||

If you have even a little of faith in God, come in the battlefield fully armed.50.

ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਸਤੁ ਬਰ ਸਰ ਤੁਰਾ ਈਂ ਸੁਖ਼ਨ ॥

k pharazasat bar sar turaa iee(n) sukhhan ||

ਕਿ ਕਉਲੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਸਤੁ ਕਸਮਸਤੁ ਮਨ ॥੫੧॥

k kaule khhudhaa asat kasamasat man ||51||

It is your duty act on these words, because for me, these words are like the Orders of God.51.

ਅਗਰ ਹਜ਼ਰਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਿਤਾਦਹ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥

agar hazarate khhudh sitaadheh shavadh ||

ਬ ਜਾਨੋ ਦਿਲੇ ਕਾਰ ਵਾਜ਼ਿਹ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੫੨॥

b jaano dhile kaar vaazeh shavadh ||52||

If the Holy Prophet had been there himself, you would have acted on them with all your heart.52.

ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਰਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਸਤੁ ਕਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀਂ ॥

shumaa raa pharazasat kaare kunee(n) ||

ਬਮੂਜਬ ਨਵਿਸ਼ਤਹ ਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀਂ ॥੫੩॥

bamoojab navishateh shumaare kunee(n) ||53||

It is your duty and a binding on you to do as bidden in writing.53.

ਨਵਿਸ਼ਤਹ ਰਸੀਦੋ ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਜ਼ੁਬਾ ॥

navishateh raseedho baguphateh zubaa ||

ਬਿਬਾਯਦ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਕਾਰ ਰਾਹਤ ਰਸਾ ॥੫੪॥

bibaayadh k iee(n) kaar raahat rasaa ||54||

I have received your letter and the message, do, whatever is required to be done.54.

ਹਮੂੰ ਮਰਦ ਬਾਯਦ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਸੁਖ਼ਨਵਰ ॥

hamoo(n) maradh baayadh shavadh sukhhanavar ||

One should act on his words

ਨ ਸ਼ਿਕਮੇ ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਦਰ ਦਹਾਨਿ ਦਿਗਰ ॥੫੫॥

n shikame dhig(h)r dhar dhahaan dhigar ||55||

The speech and action should correspond.55.

ਕਿ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਮਰਾ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਨਯਮ ॥

k kaazee maraa guphateh beroo(n) nayam ||

ਅਗਰ ਰਾਸਤੀ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਬਿਯਾਰੀ ਕਦਮ ॥੫੬॥

agar raasatee khhudh biyaaree kadham ||56||

I agree with the words conveyed by the Qazi, but if you promise to come on the right path.56.

ਤੁਰਾ ਗਰ ਬਬਾਯਦ ਬ ਕਉਲੇ ਕੁਰਾ ॥

turaa gar babaayadh b kaule kuraa ||

ਬਨਿਜ਼ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਰਾ ਰਸਾਨਮ ਹੁਮਾ ॥੫੭॥

banizadhe shumaa raa rasaanam humaa ||57||

If you want to see the letter containing oaths, I can send you the same immediatedly.57.

ਕਿ ਤਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਦਰ ਕਸਬਹ ਕਾਗੜ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

k tashareef dhar kasabeh kaagaR kunadh ||

ਵਜ਼ਾ ਪਸ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਬਾਹਮ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੫੮॥

vazaa pas mulaakaat baaham shavadh ||58||

If you come yourself in village Kangar, we can meet each other.58.

ਨ ਜ਼ਰੱਹ ਦਰੀਂ ਰਾਹ ਖ਼ਤਰਹ ਤੁਰਾਸਤ ॥

n zara'h dharee(n) raeh khhatareh turaasat ||

Do not bring in your mind the danger of coming there

ਹਮਹ ਕੌਮਿ ਬੈਰਾੜ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਮਰਾਸਤ ॥੫੯॥

hameh kauam bairaaR hukam maraasat ||59||

Because the Brar community acts according to my orders.59.

ਬਿਯਾ ਤਾ ਬਮਨ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨੀ ਕੁਨੇਮ ॥

biyaa taa baman khhudh zubaanee kunem ||

We can talk to each other in this way

ਬਰੂਏ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕੁਨੇਮ ॥੬੦॥

barooe shumaa meharabaanee kunem ||60||

Kindly come so that we may have direct talk.60.

ਯਕੇ ਅਸਪ ਸ਼ਾਇਸਤਏ ਯਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ॥

yake asap shaisate yak hazaar ||

Your saying that I may bring for you a very fine steed of one thousand rupees and

ਬਿਯਾ ਤਾ ਬਗੀਰੀ ਬ ਮਨ ਈਂ ਦਿਯਾਰ ॥੬੧॥

biyaa taa bageeree b man iee(n) dhiyaar ||61||

Get this area as a feoff (jagir) from you, you may keep this thing in your mind.61.

ਸ਼ਹਿਨਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਰਾ ਬੰਦਹੇ ਚਾਕਰੇਮ ॥

shahinashaeh raa ba(n)dhahe chaakarem ||

I am the man of the Sovereign of Sovereign and His slave

ਅਗਰ ਹੁਕਮ ਆਯਦ ਬ ਜਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੇਮ ॥੬੨॥

agar hukam aayadh b jaa haazarem ||62||

If He permits me, then I shall present myself there.62.

ਅਗਰਚੇ ਬਿਆਯਦ ਬ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਮਨ ॥

agarache biaayadh b phuramaan man ||

ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਤ ਬਿਯਾਯਮ ਹਮਹ ਜਾਨ ਤਨ ॥੬੩॥

hazoor ta biyaayam hameh jaan tan ||63||

If He permits me, then I shall be present there in person.63.

ਅਗਰ ਤੋ ਬਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥

agar to bayazadhaa prasatee kunee ||

ਬ ਕਾਰੇ ਮਰਾ ਈਂ ਨ ਸੁਸਤੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੬੪॥

b kaare maraa iee(n) na susatee kunee ||64||

If you worship One Lord, you will not cause any delay in this work of mine.64.

ਬਿਬਾਯਦ ਕਿ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਸ਼ਨਾਸੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥

bibaayadh k yazadhaa shanaasee kunee ||

ਨ ਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਕਸੇ ਕਸ ਖ਼ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੬੫॥

n g(h)uphateh kase kas khharaashee kunee ||65||

You should recognize the Lord, so that you may not talk ill or cause injury to anybody.65.

ਤੁ ਮਸਨਦ ਨਸ਼ੀਂ ਸਰਵਰੇ ਕਾਇਨਾਤ ॥

t masanadh nashee(n) saravare kainaat ||

ਕਿ ਅਜਬ ਅਸਤੁ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਈਂ ਹਮ ਸਫ਼ਾਤ ॥੬੬॥

k ajab asat inasaaph iee(n) ham saphaat ||66||

You are the Sovereign of the world and you sit on the throne, but I wonder at your ill acts of injustice.66.

ਕਿ ਅਜਬ ਅਸਤੁ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ੋ ਈਂ ਪਰਵਰੀ ॥

k ajab asat inasaapho iee(n) paravaree ||

I wonder at your acts of piety and justice

ਕਿ ਹੈਫ਼ ਅਸਤੁ ਸਦ ਹੈਫ਼ ਈਂ ਸਰਵਰੀ ॥੬੭॥

k haiph asat sadh haiph iee(n) saravaree ||67||

I feel sorry at your sovereignty.67.

ਕਿ ਅਜਬ ਅਸਤ ਅਜਬ ਅਸਤ ਤਕਵਾ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ॥

k ajab asat ajab asat takavaa shumaa ||

I wonder very much regarding your faith

ਬਜੁਜ਼ ਰਾਸਤੀ ਸੁਖ਼ਨ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਨ ਜ਼ਯਾ ॥੬੮॥

bajuz raasatee sukhhan guphatan zayaa ||68||

Anything said against truth brings downfall.68.

ਮਜ਼ਨ ਤੇਗ਼ ਬਰ ਖੂੰਨ ਕਸ ਬੇਦਰੇਗ਼ ॥

mazan teg(h) bar khoo(n)n kas bedhareg(h) ||

ਤੁਰਾ ਨੀਜ਼ ਖੂੰ ਅਸਤ ਬਾ ਚਰਖ਼ ਤੇਗ਼ ॥੬੯॥

turaa neez khoo(n) asat baa charakhh teg(h) ||69||

Do not be rash in striking your sword on helpless, otherwise the Providence will shed your blood.69.

ਤੁ ਗਾਫ਼ਲ ਮਸੌ ਮਰਦ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਸ਼ਨਾਸ ॥

t gaaphal masau maradh yazadhaa shanaas ||

ਕਿ ਓ ਬੇਨਿਆਜ਼ ਅਸਤੁ ਓ ਬੇ ਸੁਪਾਸ ॥੭੦॥

k o beniaaz asat o be supaas ||70||

Do not be careless, recognize the Lord, who is averse to greed and flattery.70.

ਕਿ ਊ ਬੇ ਮੁਹਾਬਸਤੁ ਸ਼ਾਹਾਨਿ ਸ਼ਾਹ ॥

k uoo be muhaabasat shaahaan shaeh ||

He, the Sovereign of Sovereigns, fears none

ਜ਼ਿਮੀਨੋ ਜ਼ਮਾ ਸੱਚਏ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ॥੭੧॥

zimeeno zamaa sa'che paatishaeh ||71||

He is the Master of the earth and heavens.71.

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਿ ਈਜ਼ਦ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੋ ਜ਼ਮਾ ॥

khhudhaava(n)dh ieezadh zameeno zamaa ||

He, the True Lord, is the Master of both the worlds

ਕੁਨਿੰਦਹਸਤ ਹਰ ਕਸ ਮਕੀਨੋ ਮਕਾ ॥੭੨॥

kuni(n)dhahasat har kas makeeno makaa ||72||

He is the Creator of all the creatures of the universe.72.

ਹਮ ਅਜ਼ ਪੀਰ ਮੋਰਹ ਹਮ ਅਜ਼ ਫ਼ੀਲ ਤਨ ॥

ham az peer moreh ham az pheel tan ||

He is the Presever of all, from ant to elephant

ਕਿ ਆਜਜ਼ ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ ਅਸਤੋ ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਲ ਸ਼ਿਕੰਨ ॥੭੩॥

k aajaz nivaaz asato g(h)aaphal shika(n)n ||73||

He gives strength to the helpless and destroys the careless.73.

ਕਿ ਊ ਰਾ ਚੁ ਇਸਮ ਅਸਤੁ ਆਜਜ਼ ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ ॥

k uoo raa ch isam asat aajaz nivaaz ||

The True Lord is known as ‘Protector of the lowly’

ਕਿ ਊ ਬੇ ਸੁਪਾਸ ਅਸਤ ਊ ਬੇ ਨਿਯਾਜ਼ ॥੭੪॥

k uoo be supaas asat uoo be niyaaz ||74||

He is carefree and free from want.74.

ਕਿ ਊ ਬੇ ਨਗੂੰ ਅਸਤੁ ਊ ਬੇ ਚਗੂੰ ॥

k uoo be nagoo(n) asat uoo be chagoo(n) ||

He is Unassailable and Unparalleled

ਕਿ ਊ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾ ਅਸਤੁ ਊ ਰਹਿਨਮੂੰ ॥੭੫॥

k uoo rahinumaa asat uoo rahinamoo(n) ||75||

He shows the path as a Guide.75.

ਕਿ ਬਰ ਸਰ ਤੁਰਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਕਸਮਿ ਕੁਰਾ ॥

k bar sar turaa pharaz kasam kuraa ||

ਬ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਕਾਰ ਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਰਸਾ ॥੭੬॥

b guphateh shumaa kaar khhoobee rasaa ||76||

You are strained by the oath of the Quran, therefore, fulfil the promise made by you.76.

ਬਿਬਾਯਦ ਤੁ ਦਾਨਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥

bibaayadh ta dhaanash prasatee kunee ||

ਬਕਾਰੇ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਚੇਰਹ ਦਸਤੀ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੭੭॥

bakaare shumaa chereh dhasatee kunee ||77||

It is appropriate for you to become sane and do your task with severity.77.

ਚਿਹਾ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਕਿ ਚੂੰ ਬੱਚਗਾ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਹ ਚਾਰ ॥

chihaa shudh k choo(n) ba'chagaa kushateh chaar ||

ਕਿ ਬਾਕੀ ਬਿਮਾਦਅਸਤੁ ਪੇਚੀਦਹ ਮਾਰ ॥੭੮॥

k baakee bimaadhasat pecheedheh maar ||78||

What, if you have killed my four sons, the hooded cobra still sits coiled up.78.

ਚਿ ਮਰਦੀ ਕਿ ਅਖ਼ਗਰ ਖ਼ਮੋਸ਼ਾ ਕੁਨੀ ॥

ch maradhee k akhhagar khhamoshaa kunee ||

ਕਿ ਆਤਿਸ਼ ਦਮਾ ਰਾ ਫ਼ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੭੯॥

k aatish dhamaa raa pharozaa kunee ||79||

What type of bravery it is to extinguish the speak of fire and fan the flames.79.

ਚਿ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਗੁਫ਼ਤ ਫ਼ਿਰਦੌਸੀਏ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਜ਼ੁਬਾ ॥

ch khhush guphat phiradhauase'ee khhush zubaa ||

ਸ਼ਿਤਾਬੀ ਬਵਦ ਕਾਰਿ ਆਹਰਮਨਾ ॥੮੦॥

shitaabee bavadh kaar aaharamanaa ||80||

Listen to this well-said quotation of Firdausi : “The hasty action is the work of Satan”.80.

ਕਿ ਮਾ ਬਾਰਗਹਿ ਹਜ਼ਰਤ ਆਯਦ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ॥

k maa baarageh hazarat aayadh shumaa ||

ਅਜ਼ਾ ਰੋਜ਼ ਬਾਸ਼ੇਦ ਸ਼ਾਹਿਦ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ॥੮੧॥

azaa roz baashedh shaahidh shumaa ||81||

I have also come from the abode of Your Lord, who will be the witness on the day of Judgement.81.

ਵਗਰਨਹ ਤੁ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਫ਼ਰਾਮੋਸ਼ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

vagaraneh ta iee(n) raa pharaamosh kunadh ||

ਤੁਰਾ ਹਮ ਫ਼ਰਾਮੋਸ਼ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਕੁਨਦ ॥੮੨॥

turaa ham pharaamosh yazadhaa kunadh ||82||

If you prepare yourself for the good action, the Lord will give you an apt reward.82.

ਅਗਰ ਕਾਰਿ ਈਂ ਬਰ ਤੂ ਬਸਤੀ ਕਮਰ ॥

agar kaar iee(n) bar too basatee kamar ||

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਾਸ਼ਦ ਤੁਰਾ ਬਹਰਹ ਵਰ ॥੮੩॥

khhudhaava(n)dh baashadh turaa bahareh var ||83||

If you forget this task of Justice, the Lord will forget you.83.

ਕਿ ਈਂ ਕਾਰ ਨੇਕਅਸਤੁ ਦੀਂ ਪਰਵਰੀ ॥

k iee(n) kaar nekasat dhee(n) paravaree ||

ਚੁ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਸ਼ਨਾਸੀ ਬਜਾ ਬਰਤਰੀ ॥੮੪॥

ch yazadhaa shanaasee bajaa barataree ||84||

The righteous has to tread the path of truth and virtue, but it is still better to recognize the Lord.84.

ਤੁਰਾ ਮਨ ਨ ਦਾਨਮ ਕਿ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਸ਼ਨਾਸ ॥

turaa man na dhaanam k yazadhaa shanaas ||

ਬਰਾਮਦ ਜ਼ਿ ਤੂ ਕਾਰਹਾ ਦਿਲ ਖ਼ਰਾਸ ॥੮੫॥

baraamadh z too kaarahaa dhil khharaas ||85||

I do not believe that man recognizes the Lord, who injures the sentiments of others through his action.85.

ਸ਼ਨਾਸਦ ਹਮੀਂ ਤੂ ਨ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਕਰੀਮ ॥

shanaasadh hamee(n) too na yazadhaa kareem ||

ਨ ਖ਼੍ਵਾਹਦ ਹਮੀ ਤੂ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥੮੬॥

n khhavaiaahadh hamee too badhaualat azeem ||86||

The True and Merciful Lord does not love you, though you have unaccountable wealth.86.

ਅਗਰ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਾ ਰਾ ਬਖ਼ੁਰਦੀ ਕਸਮ ॥

agar sadh kuraa raa bakhhuradhee kasam ||

ਮਰਾ ਏਤਬਾਰੇ ਨ ਈਂ ਜ਼ਰਹ ਦਮ ॥੮੭॥

maraa etabaare na iee(n) zareh dham ||87||

Even if you swear a hundred times by the Quran, I shall never trust you.87.

ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਨ ਆਯਮ ਨ ਈਂ ਰਹ ਸ਼ਵਮ ॥

hazooree na aayam na iee(n) reh shavam ||

I cannot come to you and am not prepared to tread your path of oaths

ਅਗਰ ਸ਼ਹ ਬਖ਼੍ਵਾਹਦ ਮਨ ਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਵਮ ॥੮੮॥

agar sheh bakhhavaiaahadh man aa(n) jaa ravam ||88||

I shall go, wherever my Lord will ask me to go.88.

ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਸ਼ਾਹਾਨ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ॥

khhushash shaeh shaahaan aauara(n)gazeb ||

You are king of king, O fortunate Aurangzeb

ਕਿ ਚਾਲਾਕ ਦਸਤੁ ਅਸਤੁ ਚਾਬੁਕ ਰਕੇਬ ॥੮੯॥

k chaalaak dhasat asat chaabuk rakeb ||89||

You are a clever administrator and a good horseman.89.

ਚਿ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲਸਤੁ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਜ਼ਮੀਰ ॥

ch husanal jamaalasat rauashan zameer ||

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਮੁਲਕ ਅਸਤੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਮੀਰ ॥੯੦॥

khhudhaava(n)dh mulak asat saahib ameer ||90||

With the help of your intelligence and the sword, you have become the master of Deg and Tegh.90.

ਕਿ ਤਰਤੀਬ ਦਾਨਸ਼ ਬ ਤਦਬੀਰ ਤੇਗ਼ ॥

k tarateeb dhaanash b tadhabeer teg(h) ||

You are the acme of beauty and wisdom

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਿ ਦੇਗ਼ੋ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਿ ਤੇਗ਼ ॥੯੧॥

khhudhaava(n)dh dheg(h)o khhudhaava(n)dh teg(h) ||91||

You are the chief of chiefs and the king.91.

ਕਿ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਜ਼ਮੀਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਹੁਸਨੁਲ ਜਮਾਲ ॥

k rauashan zameer asat husanul jamaal ||

You are the acme of beauty and wisdom

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹੇ ਮੁਲਕੋ ਮਾਲ ॥੯੨॥

khhudhaava(n)dh bakhhashi(n)dhahe mulako maal ||92||

You are the master of the country and its wealth.92.

ਕਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਦਰ ਜੰਗ ਕੋਹ ॥

k bakhhashish kabeer asat dhar ja(n)g koh ||

You are most generous and a mountain in the battlefield

ਮਲਾਯਕ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਚੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਯਾ ਸ਼ਿਕੋਹ ॥੯੩॥

malaayak siphat choo(n) sura'yaa shikoh ||93||

You are like angels wielding high splendour.93.

ਸ਼ਹਿਨਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਆਲਮੀਂ ॥

shahinashaeh aauara(n)gazeb aalamee(n) ||

ਕਿ ਦਾਰਾਇ ਦੌਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਦੂਰ ਅਸਤ ਦੀਂ ॥੯੪॥

k dhaarai dhauar asat dhoor asat dhee(n) ||94||

Though you are the king of kings, O Aurangzeb! you are far from righteousness and justice.94.

ਮਨਮ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਹਅਮ ਕੋਹੀਆ ਬੁਤਪ੍ਰਸਤ ॥

manam kushataham koheeaa butaprasat ||

ਕਿ ਆਂ ਬੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੰਦੋ ਮਨ ਬੁਤ ਸ਼ਿਕਸਤ ॥੯੫॥

k aa(n) but prasata(n)dho man but shikasat ||95||

I vanquished the vicious hill chiefs, they were idol-worshippers and I am idol-breaker.95.

ਬਬੀਂ ਗ਼ਰਦਸ਼ੇ ਬੇਵਫ਼ਾਏ ਜ਼ਮਾ ॥

babee(n) g(h)radhashe bevaphaae zamaa ||

ਪਸੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਤ ਉਫ਼ਤਦ ਰਸਾਨਦ ਜ਼ਿਯਾ ॥੯੬॥

pase pushat uphatadh rasaanadh ziyaa ||96||

Look at the time-cycle, quite undependable whosoever it pursues, it brings his decline.96.

ਬਬੀਂ ਕੁਦਰਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਯਜ਼ਦਾਨਿ ਪਾਕ ॥

babee(n) kudharate nek yazadhaan paak ||

ਕਿ ਅਜ਼ ਯਕ ਬ ਦਹ ਲਖ਼ ਰਸਾਨਦ ਹਲਾਕ ॥੯੭॥

k az yak b dheh lakhh rasaanadh halaak ||97||

Think of the power of the Holy Lord, which causes one persons to kill lakhs of people.97.

ਕਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਕੁਨਦ ਮਿਹਰਬਾ ਅਸਤੁ ਦੋਸਤ ॥

k dhushaman kunadh miharabaa asat dhosat ||

If God is friendly, no enemy can do anything

ਕਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹ ਓਸਤ ॥੯੮॥

k bakhhashi(n)dhagee kaar bakhhashi(n)dheh osat ||98||

The generous action proceed from the merciful Lord.98.

ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦਿਹੋ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਦਿਹਦ ॥

rihaiee dhiho rahinumaiee dhihadh ||

ਜ਼ੁਬਾ ਰਾ ਬਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਆਸ਼ਨਾਈ ਦਿਹਦ ॥੯੯॥

zubaa raa basiphat aashanaiee dhihadh ||99||

He is the Emancipator and the Guide, who causes our tongue to sing His Praises.99.

ਖ਼ਸਮ ਰਾ ਚੁ ਕੋਰਊ ਕੁਨਦ ਵਕਤਿ ਕਾਰ ॥

khhasam raa ch koruoo kunadh vakat kaar ||

In throubled times He withdraws the faculty of sight from the enemies

ਯਤੀਮਾ ਬਿਰੂੰ ਮੇ ਬੁਰਦ ਬੇਅਜ਼ਾਰ ॥੧੦੦॥

yateemaa biroo(n) me buradh beazaar ||100||

He releases without injury the suppressed and the lowly.100.

ਹਰਾ ਕਸ ਕਿ ਓ ਰਾਸਤ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

haraa kas k o raasat baazee kunadh ||

ਰਹੀਮੇ ਬਰੋ ਰਹਮ ਸਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥੧੦੧॥

raheeme baro raham saazee kunadh ||101||

He, who is tuuthful and follows the right path, the Merciful Lord is Graceful towards him.101.

ਕਸੇ ਖ਼ਿਦਮਤ ਆਯਦ ਬਸੇ ਦਿਲੋ ਜਾ ॥

kase khhidhamat aayadh base dhilo jaa ||

ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦ ਬਰ ਵੈ ਅਮਾ ॥੧੦੨॥

khhudhaava(n)dh bakhhasheedh bar vai amaa ||102||

He, who surrenders his mind and body to Him, the True Lord is Graceful towards him.102.

ਚਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਬਰਾ ਹੀਲਹ ਸਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

ch dhushaman baraa heeleh saazee kunadh ||

ਅਗਰ ਰਹਨੁਮਾ ਬਰ ਵੈ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੧੦੩॥

agar rahanumaa bar vai raazee shavadh ||103||

No enemy can ever beguile him, on whom the Merciful Lord showers His Graces.103.

ਅਗਰ ਯਕ ਬਰ ਆਯਦ ਦਹੋ ਦਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ॥

agar yak bar aayadh dhaho dheh hazaar ||

ਨਿਗਹਬਾਨ ਊ ਰਾ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਕਿਰਦਗਾਰ ॥੧੦੪॥

nigahabaan uoo raa shavadh kiradhagaar ||104||

When one man is attacked by lakh, the Generous Lord gives him protection.104.

ਤੁਰਾ ਗਰ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਹਸਤ ਲਸ਼ਕਰ ਵ ਜ਼ਰ ॥

turaa gar nazar hasat lashakar v zar ||

ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਨਿਗਹ ਅਸਤੁ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰ ॥੧੦੫॥

k maaraa nigeh asat yazadhaa shukar ||105||

Just as your hopes lie in your wealth, I depend upon the Grace of the Lord.105.

ਕਿ ਊ ਰਾ ਗ਼ਰੂਰ ਅਸਤ ਬਰ ਮੁਲਕੁ ਮਾਲ ॥

k uoo raa g(h)roor asat bar mulak maal ||

ਵ ਮਾਰਾ ਪਨਾਹ ਅਸਤੁ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਅਕਾਲ ॥੧੦੬॥

v maaraa panaeh asat yazadhaa akaal ||106||

You are proud of your kingdom and wealth, but I take refuge in the Non-Temporal Lord.106.

ਤੁ ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਲ ਮਸ਼ੌ ਜ਼ੀ ਸਿਪੰਜੀ ਸਰਾਇ ॥

t g(h)aaphal mashau zee sipa(n)jee sarai ||

ਕਿ ਆਲਮ ਬਗੁਜ਼ਰਦ ਸਰੇ ਜਾ ਬਜਾਇ ॥੧੦੭॥

k aalam baguzaradh sare jaa bajai ||107||

Do not be careless about this fact that this saraae (resting place) is not the permanent abode.107.

ਬਬੀਂ ਗਰਦਸ਼ਿ ਬੇਵਫ਼ਾਏ ਜ਼ਮਾ ॥

babee(n) garadhash bevaphaae zamaa ||

Look at the time-cycle, which is undependable

ਕਿ ਬਰ ਹਰ ਬੁਗ਼ੁਜ਼ਰਦ ਮਕੀਨੋ ਮਕਾ ॥੧੦੮॥

k bar har bug(h)uzaradh makeeno makaa ||108||

It gives a fatal blow to everything of this world.108.

ਤੁ ਗਰ ਜ਼ਬਰ ਆਜਜ਼ ਖ਼ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਮਕੁਨ ॥

t gar zabar aajaz khharaashee makun ||

Do not oppose the lowly and helpless

ਕਸਮ ਰਾ ਬ ਤੇਸ਼ਹ ਤਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਮਕੁਨ ॥੧੦੯॥

kasam raa b tesheh taraashee makun ||109||

Do not break the oaths taken on the Quran.109.

ਚੁ ਹਕ ਯਾਰ ਬਾਸ਼ਦ ਚਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

ch hak yaar baashadh ch dhushaman kunadh ||

ਅਗਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ ਰਾ ਬ ਸਦ ਤਨ ਕੁਨਦ ॥੧੧੦॥

agar dhushamanee raa b sadh tan kunadh ||110||

If God is friendly, what the enemy can do?, though he may be inimical in many ways.110.

ਖ਼ਸਮ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ ਗਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਆਵੁਰਦ ॥

khhasam dhushamanee gar hazaar aavuradh ||

ਨ ਯਕ ਮੂਇ ਊ ਰਾ ਅਜ਼ਾਰ ਆਵੁਰਦ ॥੧੧੧॥੧॥

n yak mooi uoo raa azaar aavuradh ||111||1||

The enemy may try to give a thousand blows, but he cannot harm even one hair, (if God is friendly).111.
