Moving to a new phone
Your account isn't stored on your phone. Sign in on the new phone the same way as before and everything comes back.
Before you switch
On your old phone, open Simran and tap the Me tab. If you see Sign Up or Log In, you're a guest and your progress is only on that phone. Create an account first.
On the new phone
- Install Simran from the App Store or Google Play and open it.
- On the welcome screen, tap Log in next to Already have an account?
- Choose the same option you used before: Apple, Google or Email.

Your routine, streaks, practice history, notes, highlights and saved Gurbani come back, and Premium unlocks.
If Premium doesn't unlock: link the old phone
If you subscribed on the old phone before you signed in, the subscription can be tied to that phone instead of your account. Link it while you still have the old phone:
- On the old phone, open Simran and sign in to the same account you used on the new phone. If it's signed in to a different account, log out first (Settings, Account, Log out). Your subscription stays on the phone.
- Tap the Me tab, then the gear icon to open Settings.
- Under Subscription, tap Link to this account. Simran confirms Linked.
- On the new phone, close Simran and open it again. Premium unlocks.
Link to this account only appears when the old phone has a subscription that isn't on your account yet. If you don't see it, try Restore purchases in the same place on the new phone, or see Premium isn't unlocked.
Old phone gone? Write to us with the ID from the bottom of Settings on the new phone and your store receipt (the Apple receipt email, or the Google Play order number starting with GPA.), and we'll link it for you.
A few things are kept on each phone rather than in your account, so set them again: reader settings, app language, widget settings, reminder times and downloaded audio.
What not to do
- Don't sign in a different way on the new phone. Apple, Google and email are separate accounts.
- Don't delete your account on the old phone. That erases it everywhere.
- Don't erase the old phone until Simran works on the new one.
Signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email? That's fine. See Sign in with Apple and Hide My Email.
